vast aire - da supafriendz (ft. mf doom) (dabrye remix)
what i just wrote above pretty much says it all. collaborations by rappers more on point than vast aire and doom are very, very hard to come by, and dabrye throws one of his best beats ever in the mix for this one. love the surreal, asymmetrical quality he incorporated into the track, and the subtle samples and variations in pitch just make it altogether MASSIVE. the other versions of ‘da supafriendz’ are obviously solid too, and have unique qualities that warrant attention as well (on top of the credibility of the mc’s themselves), but this one is simply ridiculous. enough brilliant one-liners to power through an entire comedy routine. i need to babysit in an hour, so i’m going to maintain a sober state of responsibility, but know that i’m going to smoke to this as soon as it’s an option.
