dropping thirty bucks (the most i’ve spent on a show since being here??) to see these guys play at stubbs tonight. i’ve been a fan of theirs since i was a sophomore at fsu 5 or 6 years ago, and haven’t seen them live yet. i figure, since i missed radio moscow a few days ago because i was watching the end of the heat/pistons game on my computer (thanks for hitting those free throws, lebron), i can indulge a bit this weekend and cross another name off my list. i hope they play this, and freak the fuck out on stage. though i might have to hop up there and slap one of them if they stomp or knock over a fender rhodes in front of me. not cool. their non-instrumental stuff is pretty sweet and all, but i just think this track, the last one off their self-titled debut, is some next level stuff. i guess you could call it post-rock, but it’s more propulsive and melodic than that genre typically entails.
