recognized those repetitive flatlining chords almost immediately, from ‘the golden age of apocalypse’ by thundercat. unwelcoming and strident, they’re also fascinating and add a certain type of dignity to both pieces, like a clock tower ringing proudly for no apparent reason. i’m about 95% sure that i’m right about that sample. also, need to get more into lateef’s music soon.
