Deltron 3030 - 3030
auto-reblog. even though i’d already been a passionate fan of the genre for a while, this track illuminated a distinctly new realm of potential within hip-hop for me. del tha funkee homosapien, dan the automator, and kid koala came together to produce a concept album back in 2000, it’s quite possible that even they couldn’t have foreseen how truly progressive and transcendent an album they were capable of creating, this beacon of a title track shining marvelously in particular. it wraps up after more than seven minutes but never gets tiresome, with dan nakamura’s orchestrally laced production accentuated by operatic samples and kid koala’s sensual scratches. this album featured the track ‘time keeps on slipping,’ which featured damon albarn of blur on vocals, eventually led to another collaboration between del, damon, and dan, called gorillaz. absolutely a breakthrough album if you like beats, raps, outer space, or successfully actualized creativity.
