lotus - behind midwest storefronts & blacklight sunflare (live @ red rocks, 2011)

not many live bands out there who can perform with the consistent energy and musical intrigue that these guys put out. i feel like my life has gotten so colorado-centric lately, starting with the state’s enormous presence at wakarusa….now everyone’s going there, for sonic bloom or sts9 at red rocks or to play shows or to visit boulder or denver or wherever, or they’re coming back from there, listening to bands from there or recordings of other groups who performed there, there’s people telling me to visit there….seemingly just no end to it. some friends from bonnaroo are stopping at my house tonight on their way back from boulder. i think it’s a sign. 

‘behind midwest storefronts’ is from their ‘08 album hammerstrike, and ‘blacklight sunflare’ is one of the standouts off their outstanding self-titled 2011 release.
