Melody’s Echo Chamber - Some Time Alone, Alone (Produced by Kevin Parker)

parisian songstress melody prochet’s efforts to tame impalacize her music, initiated by propositioning the australian band’s frontman for sonic assistance after a show, are proven here to be a thoroughly worthwhile endeavor. you can get more details about the roots of their collaboration here, from tame impala’s tumblr (via spin mag’s interview). 

this tune features some exceptionally orchestrated psychedelic noise, marching along at a mid-tempo stride, with prochet’s vibrato-less vocals sounding like the most lucid thing in the mix. they remind me of another singer whose voice i can’t place right now. regardless, this was enjoyable from start to finish, other than possibly the anti-climactic, somewhat frustrating last pitch, but i can excuse that after three or four minutes of general loveliness. i would write more, but i’ve been babysitting for the last two hours and i need to drive downtown to drop this kid off now. will probably add some more words and such later.
