Jogger - Master and Student
I feel like this track channels Wendy Carlos, especially around 1:50.
tasty complexities…..i’m hearing a sort of manic boards of canada influence here. shades of prefuse 73 too, but expressed in a different way. i wrote about the interesting backstory behind wendy carlos in this dilla post from a few weeks ago. the last section after the key change reminds me of jam band music, trance-jammers like perpetual groove and lotus in particular. ‘master and student’ is a pretty stimulating and progressive track, but it has an element of nostalgia to it as well.
